Let’s talk about Fear. I’ve come to realize that this thing we call fear might possibly be ingrained into our cells. No matter what we do to overcome it, it will always be lurking in the background. This is something I’ve been working on for a while now. What I’ve realized is that – because my grandparents were in the holocaust – there was serious fear that they lived with for years. That trickled down into my mother and therefore to an extent, it’s trickled down to me. Also, when my mother was pregnant with me she had many complications during and before my birth. So before I was even born there was a fear that I wasn’t going to make it. That in and of itself is scary and shows another way of how fear has been ingrained into my cells. It’s really interesting to find out about your mothers experience during pregnancy with you as well as how the birth went. You can learn a lot about yourself just from that moment. Also, what did your ancestors go through? It might be interesting to tap into the past and see what you can find.
In any case, my point is that fear is real, it’s challenging to overcome – but it’s not impossible. I’ve found that writing down my dreams and goals on paper is helpful. Talking to a therapist is even more helpful and having a strong support system is the best thing you can have. Find people who believe in you and what you’re doing.
